Debut of "The Dark" - Sunday October 26, 2008

Can it get any more exciting?  **grin**

I'm looking forward to debuting my tale of "The Dark" at The Heritage Square Museum "Mourning Tours" on Sunday, October 26, 2008; 12pm to 4:pm.

A number of storytellers will be "round-robining" their tales throughout the day at one of the Victorian Houses.  Should you come by and I'm not telling at the moment, there are other activities to partake of until one of my tellings takes place.

Heritage Square Museum
3800 Homer Street
Los Angeles, California 90031
Tel. 323-225-2700

I believe there is an entrance fee to the grounds of $10 for adults, $8 for seniors, and $5 children 5-12.  Please check with the Museum to make certain of fees for the date.  Our storytelling is free once you are in the "gate".

Great Danes and Dickens

No, that witty title is not mine, it is from the fertile minds of Independent Shakespeare.

However, I can exuberantly tell you that their Dickens presentation is brilliant!  I go to see it yearly.  And I highly recommend you take advantage of their early bird pricing to get tickets.  Also, it's so good that it's been sold out a few times when I've tried to see it, so getting tickets in advance is sometimes a great idea.

And, I'm celebrating the anniversary of my day of birth by attending their fund-raising Gala of Hamlet.  You can attend too ... but if you prefer to see Hamlet for a lesser cost, then choose a different play date.  By the by ... I adore their version of Hamlet.  David is absolutely exquisite in it.

Emerging Voices

The vision of this event (quoted from their website) is:

"The World Festival of Sacred Music is founded on the belief that sacred music has the ability to bring forth our shared human values of peace, understanding, and respect for all living things. The Festival is not a commercial venture, nor does it promote or endorse any political or religious agenda. Offering an alternative, community-oriented model to the corporate values that dominate the entertainment culture of Los Angeles, the Festival provides opportunities for people to come together and investigate issues of tolerance and diversity within our complex, urban environment."

My vision?  It's a joyous once-in-a-three year event that has so many things to partake of, there's something for every body/mind/spirit!

See you there!
